This past Sunday, there was a tremendous move of God in both services at Cornerstone Church in Highland, MI. My Pastor, Tim Forsthoff, blogged about it as well. The content is included here:

What an Exciting Church Service!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the church service on 12-5-10. Both the 9 and 11 a.m. service were awesome. It was great to be in the presence of the Lord. Why does God move that way?

1. God moves by His Spirit to show us His power and glory.
2. God moves by His Spirit to remind us that He is sovereign.
3. God moves by His Spirit to deliver us from a "business as usual" attitude toward church.
4. God moves by His Spirit to accomplish a work in our spirit that can only be done by His Spirit. Proverbs says, "The spirit of a man is the candle of the Lord." It is man's spirit that God's Spirit quickens.
5. God moves by His Spirit in response to the cry and prayer of His people. I have been praying with my staff, elders, and deacons for God to move. We had a two hour prayer meeting on Friday. We asked God to move on Sunday. God answers prayer.
6. God moves by His Spirit to renew and revive His work. Cornerstone is His work. You are His work. Jesus says in the Gospels that He came to kindle a fire on the earth. Jesus wants your heart to be set on fire (passionate love) for Him.

God spoke to my heart in the service. God encouraged me to love Him more. God showed me His great love for me. It was my privilege to pour out my heart to Him in praise and love.

Faith

A supernatural life is available to us all of the time, provided we live by faith. We may not always see the "sign", "wonder" or healing that we desire, but if our eyes are focused on things above and not on the things of this earth, we can experience God's supernatural power. Praying and believing that God hears us and will act if we are in His will... this can open the supernatural to us.

I still long to see God deliver, set free or heal someone before my very eyes.....and I am patient. Praying and patiently waiting on Him.

Fanning the Flame

This may or may not be unusual, but, [my] Pastor Tim Forsthoff posted a blog that has stirred my heart to want to press in for that "fire that falls from heaven" as our church prepares for our 2010 Spring Convention. The "unusual" part is that I would like to share that blog with all of you. The following is Pastor Forsthoff's blog.......

"Our theme this year for Spring Convention is "Fanning the Flame." It is my vision to see our hearts stirred with a greater passion for Jesus. I believe God is going to use our Convention services (May 2-5) to stir our hearts for more of Him. How do you fan the flame? How do you increase your passion?

There needs to be an altar. The fire falls on the altar. Unless there is an altar, there is no fire. An altar is a place of sacrifice. It is a place of surrender. Whenever the Israelites neglected the altar, their passion for God diminished. Do you have an up to date altar in your life? Is your life freshly surrendered to the Lord?

There needs to be an offering. Every altar needs an offering. In the Old Testament, they offered animals on the altar to be burned before the Lord. In the New Testament, you are the offering (Rom. 12:1-2). You are to offer yourself to the Lord on the altar of sacrifice and surrender. It is a place to die to self.

There needs to be a fire. The fire falls from heaven. The fire is the Holy Spirit. You can not imitate or substitute the real thing for something of this world. The Holy Spirit needs to be in you. You need to be filled with the Holy Spirit. You need God to fall upon you once again.

There needs to be a focus. You are called to fan the flame. You need to focus on your relationship with God. How is it? Are you lukewarm? Are you neglecting your spiritual commitments? Are you engaged in spiritual disciplines? Your passion for God will increase if you purposefully sow to the Spirit.

Here is what you can do before the meetings.

1. Pray for renewed passion.

2. Fast with the church for the 3 days (April 26-28).

3. Read the Word with a heart to hear God speak to you.

4. Surrender to the Lord everything in your life. Even if you have done this already, do it again.

5. Plan on making every convention service to hear and receive from the Lord.

6. Stop grieving the Holy Spirit in your life. If you are doing something that displeases the Lord, stop it!

God will meet with you. If you seek Him, you will find Him.

Desire the Supernatural

It's been a while since I've written anything, but after visiting a friend's blog, gritandglory.com, which I highly recommend, I am encouraged to believe God for His supernatural move. After all, I believe with certainty that it was God who directed my path to that blog just moments ago. I have not experienced what the writer described in her blog; but as I told her, I am jealous for it. How often in my life am I only praying for shallow things when God is so vast.... so much so that I just don't have words to describe Him. I am reminded of the man who said to Jesus, "Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!" So that is my prayer. May that be the prayer of any who may stop by and read these words as well.

The word of God is true. The Bible, God's word, is true. 100% all of it. It's the truth and there's no denying it. I believe God. I take Him at His word.

Oh, thank You, Lord.

That is all I want to say today.

21 Days of Prayer and Fasting

Our Pastor once again called for a Daniel Fast at the beginning of January. As last year, he called us to fast from meat [including fish], pleasant bread [code words for any kind of sweet!] and our favorite beverage. That last one was probably the toughest as I truly enjoy coffee and espresso.

Today is day 19 and I can say that I have drawn closer to the Lord and in doing so, through His word and in prayer, He is growing me. There are areas that he's asking me to get beyond and leave behind. That's a good thing because were it not for God, I'd be hopelessly the same as I was in past times. I actually love His correction in my life. Without it I know I'd be a mess.

God has given me a fresh new love of His word. Got to have it! So I will continue daily in His word and in prayer even beyond Sunday when this Daniel Fast will draw to a close.

...and I'm looking forward to that espresso!

God is so awesome and I will never stop being amazed at the way He will weave circumstances, events and people into our paths. When He does that, I know He's calling for a response. My quest is to respond immediately, no matter what I feel or fear or think.... no matter what.

Early this week, I took a phone call at work and the person on the other end was sharing some troubling news with me about a serious diagnosis she had just received. I was shocked and even though I only have a professional relationship with her, I sensed the Holy Spirit prompting me to pray for her over the phone. For a split second I felt awkward and uneasy, unsure of how she would receive what I ended up saying.... which was that I wanted to change phones; go into my office as I wanted to pray with her. She said ok. In the 10 seconds it took me to run back to my office and pick up the handset, she was beginning to cry. I prayed and after we said amen, she told me that she was actually feeling better about her situation. I gave the glory to God. We're all in His hands.

An answered prayer

It's been a while since I posted a blog....wasn't sure if there was much interest from anyone else. I have decided that it's okay if no one else reads these. I know One who does know what is being written....

The other evening a few of us laid hands on a fellow believer to pray for a healing. I'm glad to report to the glory of God, that a healing took place.! Thank you, Lord.

If anyone reading has an encouraging word to share, be it of a healing or any other touch from God, your comments are most welcome!

When you least expect it

I love it when, just like He did today, God teaches me something when I'm not expecting it. The message at church today was part of a series called re:think parenting.... Well I do not have children so who could expect that God would have something important to say specifically to me ? But He did. A few things as a matter of fact! I absolutely love it when that happens. How about you?

Divine Appointments

A couple of things come to mind as I think of divine appointments. A few people in today's class gave testimonies that were clearly appointments arranged by God. Both involved a need for prayer. They were great testimonies. I think however, that sometimes the appointments are those that God arranges just to speak something to us. I will say that happened for me at the end of class. Quite "coincidentally" [ :) ] one of our classmates & I were leaving at the same time and she shared some wisdom with me, part of which concerned the prayers that we find throughout the Bible. Without going into full detail I will say that it was revelation for me. I believe that it was God who arranged to speak through this sister to me to teach me some very specific things. I give Him all the glory!

Welcome to the first blog entry of "a supernatural life". It is inspired by hearing countless great testimonies of the Holy Spirit moving in the lives of fellow believers. You know what I mean. Like when you sense Him prompting you in your spirit to offer to pray for someone even when it is totally outside of your comfort zone to do so... but you do so! I believe God wants us to be open to be used of Him so that .... His kingdom come, His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. We have those incidents occurring in our daily lives but more often than not don't have an opportunity to share them with other believers. It is my hope that we can utilize this blog to share with one another how God is supernaturally impacting our lives. May it may be a source of encouragement to us all.
